Corrections and right of reply

If something here is wrong, unfair, or about you, this is how it gets dealt with.

If a profile is yours

You have four things available to you, and you do not have to justify asking for any of them.

  • A reply. Send us your answer to how you have been scored or described. We publish it on your profile, in your words, unedited except for length. We do not get the last word underneath it.
  • A correction. If something is factually wrong — a debate you were not in, a position attributed to you that you never took, a misspelled name — tell us and we fix it.
  • Your picture removed. No reason needed. It comes off.
  • The profile taken down. We will take it offline while we look at a serious objection, rather than after.

Claiming your profile through an account gets you the first three faster, because we know it is you asking. It is not a requirement.

If you think a score is wrong

Say which metric, which debate, and what you think we missed. A score is an opinion and we are not obliged to change our mind, but we are obliged to have actually watched the thing — and more than once the answer has been that we had not watched enough of it.

Where we change a score after a challenge, the profile says so.

If you want your data

If you are in the EU or the UK you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it corrected, ask for it deleted, or object to us processing it at all. These are rights, not favours, and asking costs nothing.

The privacy notice sets out what we hold and why. Requests go to the same address as everything else on this page.

We aim to answer within
14 days

Include the address of the page you mean and what you want changed. If you are claiming to be the person profiled, say how we can tell — a post from the channel in question is plenty.

If we get it wrong anyway

Nothing here removes your right to go to a court or a data protection authority, and nothing here is conditional on you trying us first. This is meant to be the faster route, not a substitute for one.
